When does your Midjourney Fast time reset?

Midjourney has no global reset clock. Your Fast GPU hours refresh on your own renewal date and time — the same day and time you originally subscribed — and unused hours do not roll over. That makes the reset personal: the only exact answer lives in your account, via the /info command. This page explains the cycle, counts down to your refresh once you enter your renewal time, and lays out the Fast hours on every plan.

The short answer: your Fast time refreshes at the same date and time you first subscribed, every month — annual plans included. Run /info in Discord to see your exact renewal moment, then drop it into the countdown below. Anyone quoting a single universal Midjourney reset time or timezone is guessing: Midjourney doesn't publish one, because there isn't one.

01 — LIVE COUNTDOWNTime until your Fast hours refresh

Because the refresh is anchored to your subscription, an honest countdown needs your renewal moment. Run /info in Discord — it prints your next renewal date and time — and enter it here. Or use the shortcut: enter the day of the month and time you originally subscribed, and the next refresh is worked out for you. The timer updates every second and rolls forward month by month.

Your next Fast time refresh

Refreshes —

billing month elapsed —

The refresh is one instant worldwide — the zone strip shows that same moment in five time zones. There is no “Midjourney timezone” to convert from; the anchor is your subscription. Starts as a demo anchored 14 days out — replace it with your real renewal time from /info. Note Midjourney's own caveat: renewal timing may vary slightly, and the shown time can drift by up to an hour around Daylight Saving Time changes.

02 — THE CYCLEHow the Midjourney reset actually works

One meter, one monthly refresh, one personal anchor. Midjourney's own documentation states it plainly: “Your renewal date and time is also when your monthly Fast time will refresh.”

CycleWhen it resets, exactlyTime zone behaviourWho it applies to
Fast GPU time
monthly · per-account
At your renewal date and time — the same day and time you originally subscribed. Each renewal resets Fast time to your plan's full monthly amount. No global timezone. The moment is relative to your subscription start, so it differs per account. Midjourney warns it may vary slightly, and can drift up to an hour around Daylight Saving Time. Every subscriber: Basic, Standard, Pro, Mega.
Annual-plan hours
monthly refresh
Paying yearly does not bank a year of hours. Hours refresh monthly on the same day you subscribed — subscribe Aug 8, refresh on the 8th of every month. If a month lacks that date, renewal falls on the last day of the month. Same per-account anchor as monthly plans. Annual subscribers on any tier.
Unused Fast time
expires · no rollover
Nothing carries over. “Any leftover time won't roll over to the next month” — at renewal, the old balance is replaced by the new month's full amount. — Plan-included Fast hours on all tiers, monthly and annual.
Relax GPU time
unlimited · nothing to reset
Relax is not metered on Standard, Pro and Mega — there is no Relax balance and no Relax reset. Jobs queue instead of running instantly. — Standard, Pro, Mega. Basic has no Relax mode at all.

What a Fast minute buys: per Midjourney's GPU Speed documentation, an SD image prompt costs ~0.8 min, an HD prompt ~1.3 min, a Creative/Subtle upscale ~2 min, a batch of 4 SD videos ~8 min, and a batch of 4 HD videos ~26 min. Turbo Mode consumes Fast time at 2× the rate for up to 4× the speed — and isn't supported in V8.1. V8.2 has been the default model since July 24, 2026.

03 — BY PLANFast GPU hours on every Midjourney plan

Every plan resets on the same personal rule — your renewal date and time. What changes with price is the size of the monthly tank and whether Relax mode exists. Extra GPU time can be bought on any plan at $4 per hour; annual billing takes 20% off.

  • Same reset, every tier: upgrading buys more hours per month, not a different clock. Your renewal date and time stay anchored to when you first subscribed.
  • Use it or lose it: plan hours expire at renewal on every tier — a Mega subscriber who idles a month loses all 60 hours, same as anyone.
  • No free tier: Midjourney offers no ongoing free plan or trial in 2026, and no public API — access is the web app and the Discord bot.

04 — RELAX MODEThe unlimited lane that never resets

When Fast time runs out, Standard, Pro and Mega subscribers aren't locked out — they drop into Relax mode, where generation is unlimited and nothing is metered, so there is no Relax quota and no Relax reset to track.

  • Queue instead of instant: Relax jobs wait in line — typically 0–30 minutes. The more Relax you use relative to other users, the longer your waits get.
  • Who gets it: Standard (unlimited images), Pro and Mega (unlimited images and SD video). Basic has no Relax mode — when a Basic subscriber's 3.3 hours are gone, the choices are a $4/hr top-up or waiting for renewal.
  • Feature limits: Relax is not available for permutation and repeat parameters, HD video, or Max Upscale. Relax SD video is Pro and Mega only.
  • Strategy: burn Fast time on work that needs speed or HD video, and let background exploration ride Relax — your Fast balance then survives to your renewal date instead of dying mid-month.

05 — YOUR NUMBERSWhere to check your Fast time & renewal date

Your exact renewal moment exists in exactly two official places — both behind your own account. No public page, including this one, can know it.

Discord — the /info command

/info

The fastest check. /info shows your plan, your next renewal date and time, your Fast Time Remaining (used / total), and your Relaxed Usage. The renewal time it prints is the exact input the countdown at the top of this page needs.

When does my Midjourney Fast time reset?

At your subscription renewal date and time — the same day and time you originally subscribed. Midjourney's Info Command documentation states it directly: “Your renewal date and time is also when your monthly Fast time will refresh.” Run /info in Discord to see your exact moment, then feed it to the countdown at the top of this page.

Is there a global Midjourney reset time or timezone?

No. Midjourney publishes no global reset clock and no single timezone. The refresh is per-account, anchored to when you first subscribed — two subscribers can refresh on completely different days and at different times. Any site quoting one universal Midjourney reset time is guessing.

Do unused Fast hours roll over to the next month?

No. Midjourney's documentation is explicit: “any leftover time won't roll over to the next month.” At renewal your Fast time is reset to your plan's full monthly amount and the unused balance disappears. If you're near your renewal date with hours left, spend them — or let big jobs run in Fast instead of Relax.

I'm on an annual plan — when do my Fast hours refresh?

Monthly, on the same day of the month you subscribed. Midjourney's renewal guide: subscribe on August 8 and “your plan hours refresh monthly on the same day” — the 8th of each month — even though you paid for the year upfront. And if a month doesn't have that date (say you subscribed on the 31st), renewal falls on the last day of that month.

How do I check my remaining Fast time and renewal time?

Run /info in Discord — it shows your plan, your next renewal date and time, your Fast Time Remaining, and your Relaxed Usage. On the web, open the Manage Subscription page on midjourney.com: remaining Fast time is under Usage Details, and your renewal date is under Billing & Payment.

What happens when I run out of Fast time?

On Standard, Pro and Mega, you keep generating in Relax mode — unlimited, but queued. On any plan you can buy extra GPU time at $4 per hour. Basic has no Relax mode, so Basic subscribers either top up or wait for the monthly refresh.

Does Relax mode have a quota that resets?

No. Relax GPU time is unlimited on Standard, Pro and Mega — there is no Relax balance to reset. The trade-off is speed: Relax jobs wait in a queue, typically 0–30 minutes, and heavy Relax users wait longer than light ones. Relax also can't be used for permutation and repeat parameters, HD video, or Max Upscale, and Relax SD video is Pro and Mega only.

Why did my renewal time shift by about an hour?

Daylight Saving Time. Midjourney warns that “your renewal time may vary up to an hour from what's shown in Discord due to Daylight Saving Time/Summer Time,” and that renewal timing may vary slightly in general. The /info command always shows your current figure — re-check it after a clock change.

What does a Fast minute actually buy?

Per Midjourney's GPU Speed documentation: an SD image prompt ≈ 0.8 min, an HD prompt ≈ 1.3 min, a Creative/Subtle upscale ≈ 2 min, a batch of 4 SD videos ≈ 8 min, and a batch of 4 HD videos ≈ 26 min. So Standard's 15 hours is roughly 1,100 SD image prompts — or only ~200 HD video batches. Turbo Mode burns Fast time at 2× the rate for up to 4× the speed, and isn't supported in V8.1.

Does extra GPU time I buy expire at renewal?

Extra GPU time costs $4 per hour on every plan. Midjourney's public documentation doesn't explicitly state whether purchased top-up hours expire at renewal; reputable guides citing Midjourney's help center report that separately purchased Fast time remains available while your subscription stays active. Plan-included hours, by contrast, definitely do not roll over.
