Anthropic renamed Claude Max 5x to Max ($100/month) and Max 20x to Ultra ($200/month) on October 30, 2026, with prices unchanged. Verified Ultra accounts no longer have a five-hour session limit; the weekly limit is unchanged. Newer Ultra accounts keep a temporary five-hour limit until verified.
OpenAI has reversed its planned ChatGPT Pro 200 usage cut and doubled usage limits for Pro 100, Pro 200, Pro 500, and Business Premium, effective October 29, 2026. Pro 200 keeps its 20× Plus allowance — the planned drop to 10× on October 30 is cancelled.
Eligible legacy users move from 20× Plus usage to 10×. The previous allowance remains through the day before the change. We track only the confirmed date, not an unannounced switch-over time.
RPD (requests per day) is calculated per project and resets at midnight Pacific Time. That is usually 15:00 in Beijing during daylight saving time or 16:00 during standard time.
Session usage recovers on a five-hour window, while paid plans also have weekly limits. Weekly reset times are assigned by account; there is no universal reset moment for every user.
Quota recovery is more than a countdown. First identify whether it is a fixed-time reset, a rolling window, or a one-time plan change.
Gemini RPD is one example. Start with the provider’s stated timezone, convert it to local time, and account for daylight saving time.
Claude’s five-hour session limit is one example. Recovery depends on the usage window, so it cannot be reduced to one daily clock time.
A provider may assign a weekly reset day and time to each account. Public guidance can explain the rule, but your Usage panel is authoritative.
